The main areas of focus for Childsmile’s sustainability work, and some examples of activities are described below:
Use of MSTeams as the default option for all national meetings, working groups, training and CPD events. This reduces staff travel requirements.
We work closely with NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) National Procurement to identify low carbon alternatives where possible.
Support the NHS Scotland ambition to move towards 100% of Childsmile fleet vehicles being electric by March 2025.
Work with NHS NSS to establish a nationwide recycling service for toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes called Recycle and Smile.
