Toothbrushing Standards

The Childsmile Toothbrushing Standards are recognised as best practice guidance for delivering a daily supervised toothbrushing programme. These standards have been reviewed for accuracy and relevance by the Care Inspectorate and Health Protection Scotland.

Early Years providers should use the Health and Social Care Standards to complement this guidance to ensure the provision of high quality toothbrushing programmes.
